Moms Rock Doc

Los Angeles filmmaker Kate Perotti spent a couple of days in Royal Oak filmming The Mydols. Pat and Kara took her to Theatre Bizarre (www.theatrebizarre.com)and showed her how we get Halloween done in the D.

She also filmmed a Sto 'N' Go demo right on Washington Ave. in the heart of downtown!

Total Soccer

The indoor soccer season has begun for the Mydols' Over-30 soccer team.

After two games we are in first place! YAY!

After Sunday's game we had the team pose with the van in the parking lot. Our pink uniforms, tie-dyed socks and wrapped van definately make us the flashiest team in the league.

Boston Chicken

So I was hungry and I stopped by Boston Chicken and the carver asked me if I made dolls.

"What?"

"I saw your van," he said.

"Oh, oh...I'm in a band called the Mydols."

Then a customer in line asks me if I have a CD as he's a DJ and promoter. So I had this nice little conversation with these guys.

Do people notice our van? Yeah. Definately. From little old ladies who comment on it's beauty to friends looking for me at football games cause they know I'm there!

The other day I was at my son's friend's house and his little sister ran straight by me to look out the front door and yelled, "YAY! She brought the VAN!"

Minnesota Road Trip

The Mydols made a road trip to Minnesota to perform at a Rollergirl bout at the legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.

I left Detroit at around 3 PM with my husband, 2 kids, Pat's drums, my amp and 3 guitars and lots of clothes, go-go boots and makeup.

The kids brought their pillows, blankets, Game Cube, DVDs and the family lap top. It was the best road trip EVER! Despite bringing everything but the kitchen sink with us, we still had plenty of room and lots to keep the kids busy with the van's entertainment system.

I did all the driving. I even learned how to use Cruise Control! Yeah! The navigation system made driving around the Twin Cities very comfortable. I never got lost...that's not to say I didn't miss my exits...I did that..but the system got me right back on track everytime.

Our show, by the way, totally rocked thanks to the hospitality of the fabulous Minnesota Rollergirls. Dee Dee Monic is pictured with our van in the above photo!

Man I love my van!

Dodge Grand Caravan is the official minivan of The Mydols. We've had this rockin' van for a little over a month now. It's so fun to drive around town. The kids love it. People ask about it. Little kids tell me where they saw me! That's a little weird...everyone knows where I hang out now.

It's so functional too. One day I'm gonna write JUST about the GPS navigator in this thing. The kids figured out how to use and explained it too me.

But yesterday I drove my husband to the lumber yard to pick up some wood for some storage units he's building in our basement. I LOVE STO 'N GO. It was like clicking in a song...1 - 2 - 3! Bam! The seats were all down in the floor and we had so much room. The guy that helped us at the lumber yard was even impressed!
